Webinar Series #1 Educational Science Laboratory: Prof. Dr. Sugiyono Explores Best Practices in Research and Development

Yogyakarta, September 27, 2025 – The Educational Science Laboratory of the Graduate School, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (GS UNY), successfully held its Webinar Series #1 under the theme “Best Practices in Research and Development: Writing in Accordance with Standards, Producing Impactful Research.” The event featured keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Sugiyono, M.Pd., a renowned research methodology expert and bestselling author whose books have become primary references for students and researchers across Indonesia.
Conducted via the Zoom platform on Saturday (September 27) from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. (WIB), the webinar received an enthusiastic response with 192 participants from diverse academic backgrounds and regions of Indonesia. The varied attendance reflected the strong interest in mastering research methodology as a foundation for producing high-quality and impactful scholarly work.
The program was officially opened by the Director of UNY’s Graduate School, Prof. Dr. Siswantoyo, M.Kes., AIFO. In his remarks, he emphasized that this activity is part of GS UNY's commitment to continuously provide quality academic forums, bridging students, lecturers, and practitioners in developing research that responds to the needs of the times.
In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Sugiyono highlighted the importance of researchers’ consistency in adhering to methodological principles so that research does not merely serve as an academic requirement, but also makes a tangible contribution to the advancement of knowledge and educational practice. He also shared practical strategies for writing scholarly works that are systematic, accessible, and broadly applicable.
Through the successful implementation of Webinar Series #1, the Educational Science Laboratory of UNY Graduate School reaffirmed its role as an academic space that not only facilitates learning but also cultivates a culture of research that is applicable, innovative, and impactful.
