The Community Service Team of the Technology and Vocational Education Study Program of the Postgraduate School of Yogyakarta State University, chaired by Prof. Dr. Drs. Putu Sudira, M.Pd., Prof. Dr. Moch Bruri Triyono M.Pd., Dr. Dra. Widyastuti Purbani, M.A., Prof. Pardjono, M.Sc., Ph.D., Septiono Eko Bawono, Widodo, Yoga Sahria, Tinesa Fara, and Iswardani Galihrukmi, has provided assistance in training skills using basic level English. The training was held on July 16, 2023 from 08.00 to 16.00 WIB at Griya Budaya Segajih. The resource person and mentor for this training was Dr. Dra. Widyastuti Purbani, M.A., a practical expert in the use of English for the community. Participants are actors of the tourism creative economy industry, the majority of home stay managers consisting of 70% women and 30% men, also involving the role of young people as the next generation in the field of tourism. 

English Language Assistance is divided into four parts, the first is the introduction of basic material that is often used in daily activities to provide services to foreign tourists ranging from greeting, introducing themselves, to introducing the potential of Hargotirto Tourism Village. Secondly, groups of 5-6 people were given case studies of words to become meaningful sentences and exercises pronounced by each participant. Third, each group was asked to present in front of other groups what had been compiled together. Fourth, each group was taken to a home stay to practice directly using English from the facilities in the house for foreign tourists.

The first full-day training was enthusiastically welcomed by the participants, there are interesting things that arise happiness and confidence that emerges from residents both young and old. This became a provision for initial assistance that continues to be honed and continues to be used by the community. Language becomes an inherent personal skill. (WD)
