STRENGTHENING GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP, UNY GRADUATE SCHOOL VICE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING, PUBLIC, AND FINANCIAL ATTENDED POETRY WORKSHOP AND SIGNED IMPLEMENTATION OF AGREEMENT WITH MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY

Global involvement in the world of arts and advance education are being improved by the Graduate School of UNY. Vice Director II of UNY Graduate School, Dr. Widyastuti Purbani, M.A. attended Poetry Workshop hosted by Michigan State University (MSU) as well as signed Implementation of Agreement that aims to strengthen the cooperation between both universities.

This Poetry Workshop that was attended by artists and academics became a forum of inspirative and reflective poems. Widyastuti took the chance to dive deeper into the aspects of arts in advance education, and collaborated with experts of arts and literature.

In the same opportunity, Widyastuti managed to establish a stronger partnership with MSU by signing the Implementation of Agreement. The agreement is set to broaden the cooperation in multiple fields, including academics exchange, joint research, and the development of study programs.

“Participation in this Poetry workshop in MSU is an extraordinary experience, reminding us of our artistry and diversity across the globe. In the same opportunity, the Implementation of Agreement signation became an important milestone in the cooperation between UNY and MSU,” said Widyastuti.

The Implementation of Agreement becomes the legal and operational basis of cooperation between UNY and MSU. Apart from that, the agreement is said to open up new possibilities of student exchange, joint training and research project.

Prof. Laura Apol, Ph.D. also attended the signation event, welcomed this outstanding step and said, “We hope that this partnership will become the base for knowledge and experience exchange between both institutions.”

By getting involved in this aspiring and bond-strengthening Poetry Workshop, UNY and MSU committed to expand knowledge and experience that are valuable for students and academics. This step is a real step in bridging between two distinct academic cultures, creating space for idea and innovation exchange.
