Doctoral TECHNOLOGY AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION VISITATION STUDY PROGRAM

The doctoral Vocational Technology Education (PTK) study program at UNY received a visit in the context of a field visit by the Independent Educational Accreditation Institute (Lamdik) on Monday (29/8) at the Rectorate. Lamdik is an institution that has duties and responsibilities in accrediting study programs. Lamdik sent Prof. Dr. Syahrul from Makassar State University and Dr. Asep Yudi Permana from the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia to conduct this field visit.

The Chancellor of UNY welcomed the two assessors; the vice-chancellors accompanied Prof. Sumaryanto. On this occasion, the Chancellor said that during this visitation, the Doctoral technology and vocational education Study Program UNY should be given direction and enlightenment so that the quality will be even better. Syahrul, in his speech, said there were several agendas such as meeting with alums in this activity as usual accreditation activities. "However, because most of the alumni of the Doctoral technology and vocational education Study Program UNY have become officials, there is no need to interview anymore," he said. According to Syahrul, the Rector has explained the main points quite a lot, so the assessor team will only confirm with the Self-Evaluation Report. Asep Yudi Permana added that the LPTK is an inseparable unit. "We also learned about the strength of UNY that will be brought to all LPTKs," said Asep.

According to the Coordinator of the Doctoral Study Program at PTK UNY, Prof. Moch Bruri Triyono, PTK of PPs UNY held a Doctoral and Masters PTK program. The PTK Master Program has been held since 1981/1982. In contrast, the PTK Doctoral Program has been held since 2008. "The PTK Doctoral Study Program in 2012 was accredited A from BAN-PT with SK 006/2012 number," he said. The implementation of the PTK study program is based on the demands of increasing the academic ability of undergraduate and postgraduate graduates who are increasing in their functions as teachers, researchers, developers, and managers of Technology and Vocational Education in the context of serving, fostering, developing, and practicing knowledge to make it more meaningful for people's lives. Started in the 2003/2004 academic year, this study program added specialties, namely vocational education and training, career and entrepreneurship education, mechanical engineering education, automotive engineering education, electrical engineering education, electronics engineering education, informatics engineering education, civil engineering education and planning, culinary engineering education, and fashion engineering education. To support the UNY program to become a World Class University, the PTK Study Program held an International Joint Degree Doctoral Program in collaboration with TUD Germany, which began in 2013.
