There are many companies that adjust their assessment strategy to ensure candidates can still take part in the ideal recruitment process. One of them is by online assessment. What is meant by online assessment? In simple terms, online assessment is a structured and careful evaluation of aspect including skill, characteristic, knowledge or individual expertise. In the Academic Discussion held by the PEP Doctoral Study Program, SPS UNY, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tajularipin Sulaiman from the Faculty of Education, University of Putra Malaysia, explained about Authentic Assessment in Online Scope. Authentic Assessment means providing assessment opportunities like a ‘real world’ assignment. It is a set of methods or techniques for assessing student academic performance including activities that require application of knowledge and skills which acquired to the real-world situations.
Tajularipin further explained that Authentic Assessment is carrying out real-world tasks (or solving problems similar to real-world tasks) that demonstrate the meaningful application of specific knowledge, skills and competencies used by adult citizens, consumers and/or professionals.

Tajularipin also added that Authentic Assessment should be the centre of any online learning because it can make relevant assessments, integrate learning and assessment, integrate knowledge and skills within and between disciplines, promote cognitive development of higher-order thinking skills, create professionals with confident image.
