The Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (SPs UNY) held its August 2026 Graduation Confirmation Ceremony on Friday, August 14, 2026. The event marked an important milestone for 96 graduates who had completed all academic requirements for their master’s and doctoral degrees at SPs UNY.

The 96 graduates represented various study programs, comprising 15 graduates from the Doctoral Program in Research and Educational Evaluation (PEP), 11 from the Doctoral Program in Technology and Vocational Education (PTK), 16 from the Doctoral Program in Educational Sciences (IP), 14 from the Master’s Program in Research and Educational Evaluation (PEP), six from the Master’s Program in Technology and Vocational Education (PTK), 11 from the Master’s Program in Human Resource Management (MSDM), seven from the Distance Learning Master’s Program in Technology and Vocational Education (PJJ PTK), and 16 from the Distance Learning Master’s Program in Research and Educational Evaluation (PJJ PEP).

The graduation confirmation ceremony is an important stage in students’ academic journeys, formally recognizing their successful completion of their studies. More than a ceremonial occasion, the event provides an opportunity for reflection and marks the beginning of a new chapter in which graduates can apply the knowledge, competencies, and experiences they have gained throughout their studies at SPs UNY.

One of the highlights of this ceremony was the address delivered by Joko Mursito, representing the graduates from the Doctoral Program in Educational Sciences (S3 IP). Joko Mursito achieved a perfect GPA of 4.00 and also serves as Head of the Kulon Progo Regency Culture Office.

In his address, Joko Mursito expressed gratitude for completing his studies and appreciation for SPs UNY for playing an important role in the graduates’ academic journeys. He also encouraged fellow graduates to continue learning and applying their knowledge to create broader benefits for society.

Joko Mursito’s achievement of a perfect 4.00 GPA serves as an inspiration, demonstrating that professional responsibilities can go hand in hand with a strong commitment to continued academic and professional development.

In addition to the graduate representative’s address, the August 2026 ceremony featured the reading of the alumni pledge, represented by Arditama, a graduate of the Distance Learning Master’s Program in Research and Educational Evaluation (S2 PJJ PEP). The pledge symbolized the graduates’ commitment to upholding academic values and integrity while applying the knowledge they had acquired throughout their studies.

With the formal recognition of 96 graduates at the August 2026 ceremony, SPs UNY once again sent its graduates forward to pursue their careers and contribute across various fields. They are expected to carry the values of scholarship, integrity, and professionalism into their roles in society, education, government, and other professional sectors.

The August 2026 Graduation Confirmation Ceremony marked the end of one stage in the graduates’ academic journeys and the beginning of a new chapter.
