The Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (SPs UNY) held its October 2026 Graduation Confirmation Ceremony on Friday, October 16. The event marked an important milestone for 18 students from various master’s and doctoral programs who had completed their academic journeys.

The 18 graduates comprised six students from the Doctoral Program in Technology and Vocational Education (S3 PTK), one from the Doctoral Program in Educational Sciences (S3 IP), four from the Master’s Program in Research and Educational Evaluation (S2 PEP), three from the Master’s Program in Technology and Vocational Education (S2 PTK), one from the Master’s Program in Human Resource Management (S2 MSDM), one from the Master’s Program in Environmental Science, and two from the Distance Learning Master’s Program in Research and Educational Evaluation (S2 PJJ PEP).

In his remarks, the Director of the Graduate School of UNY congratulated all students on completing their studies. The graduation confirmation ceremony marks not only the successful completion of higher education but also the beginning of a new responsibility to apply the knowledge, competencies, and experience acquired throughout their studies.

The graduates are expected to advance knowledge in their respective fields, uphold integrity, and make meaningful contributions to society, institutions, and the professional world. They are also encouraged to maintain the good reputation of their alma mater and use academic values as a foundation for their professional endeavors.

Congratulations and appreciation were also conveyed by the respective study program coordinators to the students who had successfully completed their studies. Their achievements reflect the learning process, perseverance, and commitment they demonstrated throughout their academic journeys. The study program coordinators are also expected to continue encouraging graduates to develop their competencies and apply their knowledge to benefit society in their respective areas of expertise.

The student representative’s remarks were delivered by Muhammad Andhika from the Doctoral Program in Research and Educational Evaluation (S3 PEP). His address formed part of the ceremony, reflecting on the journey, experiences, and achievements of students throughout their studies at the Graduate School of UNY.

The event also featured the reading of the alumni pledge, represented by Julio Alves dos Santos from the Master’s Program in Technology and Vocational Education (S2 PTK). Julio is an international student from Timor-Leste. The alumni pledge symbolized the graduates’ commitment to preserving the honor of their alma mater, upholding academic values, and applying their knowledge to advance society.

The graduation confirmation ceremony marked the conclusion of one stage of the graduates’ academic journeys while opening opportunities for them to take on broader roles in education, research, human resource development, and other fields of knowledge.

Through this milestone, the Graduate School of UNY hopes that its graduates will continue to develop their capabilities, maintain a commitment to lifelong learning, and make positive contributions to national development and the advancement of knowledge at both national and international levels.
