SPs UNY and UNUHA Explore Further Study Opportunities through Distance Learning to Enhance Human Resource Qualifications

The Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (SPs UNY) welcomed a delegation from Universitas Nurul Huda (UNUHA) for a workshop entitled “Expanding Opportunities for Further Study through Distance Learning (PJJ)” on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Held at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB) in the Executive Meeting Room of the Imam Bernadib Building, SPs UNY, the event served as a strategic forum to discuss improving the academic qualifications of human resources and exploring inter-institutional collaboration in postgraduate education.
The UNUHA delegation was led by the Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Science and several lecturers who were also SPs UNY alumni. The delegation was welcomed by the Director of SPs UNY, Prof. Dr. Siswantoyo, M.Kes., AIFO, together with the Vice Director for Planning, General Affairs, and Finance, the Coordinator of the Distance Learning (PJJ) Unit, the Coordinator of the International Affairs and Partnership Unit (UUIK), and the Postgraduate Development Board (BPP).
The workshop opened with remarks from the Director of SPs UNY, who introduced the Graduate School’s profile, achievements, and various flagship programs. One of the key areas highlighted was the Distance Learning Program (PJJ), designed as a flexible option for lecturers and professionals pursuing master’s or doctoral degrees without having to leave their academic responsibilities at their home institutions.
During the discussion session, both institutions explored various opportunities for collaboration, particularly in supporting lecturers’ efforts to improve their academic qualifications through further study at SPs UNY. The PJJ program was a central topic, as it was considered capable of addressing the needs of lecturers seeking to enhance their academic competencies while continuing to fulfill the Three Pillars of Higher Education—education, research, and community service—effectively.
The workshop took place in an interactive atmosphere, with constructive discussions between the two institutions. Questions and input regarding PJJ implementation procedures, academic services, and opportunities for further collaboration formed an important part of the discussion. The outcomes are expected to provide a foundation for closer synergy between the institutions in the future.
