Semarang — The Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (SPs UNY) has formally entered into a strategic partnership with the Human Resources Development Agency for Transportation, Ministry of Transportation (BPSDMP), in a concerted effort to advance human resource quality and reinforce institutional governance. The cooperation agreement was officially formalized on Thursday, 9 April 2026, at the Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang.

The signing ceremony was conducted in a solemn and distinguished setting as part of the 102^nd Graduation Ceremony and the Commissioning of Maritime Transportation Officers at the Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, attended by key stakeholders across the education and transportation sectors. On this occasion, SPs UNY was represented by the Vice Director for Planning, General Affairs, and Finance, the Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Vocational and Technology Education, and the Coordinator of the International Affairs and Cooperation Unit.

The presence of the delegation underscored SPs UNY’s steadfast commitment to expanding institutional partnerships that generate tangible impact on both academic excellence and professional advancement. The agreement encompasses a number of strategic domains, including collaboration in scientific journal management, the development and integration of comprehensive information systems, and the enhancement of Civil Servants’ (ASN) competencies through structured education and training initiatives.

Moreover, the partnership is oriented toward supporting key strategic programs in higher education, particularly in accelerating faculty members’ progression to the highest academic rank (Professor) through internationally reputable publications, credit point fulfillment, and collaborative research endeavors. Both parties have also agreed to foster expertise-driven academic studies and to explore further avenues of collaboration in the future.

Through this strategic alliance, the synergy between SPs UNY and BPSDMP Transportation is expected to yield meaningful contributions to the advancement of knowledge, the strengthening of human capital, and the development of institutional systems that remain responsive and adaptive to global challenges.
