UNY Graduate School Hosts Benchmarking Visit from PPSDMAP on Distance Learning Management

The Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (SPs UNY) welcomed a benchmarking delegation from the Center for Human Resource Development of Transportation Apparatus (PPSDMAP) on Thursday, 5 February 2026, at the Executive Meeting Room. The visit aimed to deepen understanding and advance the development of Distance Learning (PJJ) systems, particularly in support of competency enhancement among civil servants (ASN).
The session opened with a welcome address from the Director of SPs UNY, who expressed appreciation for PPSDMAP's confidence in selecting SPs UNY as a benchmarking partner, and reaffirmed the Graduate School's commitment to advancing quality and sustainable distance learning.
This was followed by remarks from Dr. Ali Fikri, S.H., M.Kn., Head of the Center for Human Resource Development of Transportation Apparatus, who extended his gratitude for the warm reception and offered his apologies for his absence at a prior engagement with BPSDMP.
Dr. Ali Fikri explained that the Ministry of Transportation is currently adapting to new ministerial policies on civil servant talent management — policies that demand a more adaptive and sustainable approach to human resource development. These policies are translated into practice through both formal and non-formal education, including a broad range of training programs.
"In formal education, we have collaborated with several partners, both domestically and internationally. We are currently developing distance education and training as part of our strategy for enhancing civil servant competency," he stated.
He further noted that PPSDMAP oversees approximately 60,000 civil servants spread across Indonesia, making distance learning a strategically vital solution for reaching a wider audience more efficiently — including potential collaboration in transportation-related distance learning programs.
In response, the Director of SPs UNY welcomed the proposed collaboration and emphasized that the cooperation agreement signed by both parties should go beyond administrative formality, translating into concrete, sustainable programs with real impact.
As a follow-up, both parties discussed several actionable initiatives, including the conversion of face-to-face training sessions into online formats, and the strengthening of education and mentoring programs for civil servant competency development through distance learning systems.
This benchmarking visit is seen as a promising first step toward a stronger synergy between PPSDMAP and the UNY Graduate School in developing innovative, relevant, and impactful distance learning solutions that contribute meaningfully to the advancement of human resource quality among Indonesia's civil service apparatus.
