The Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) welcomed a delegation from Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai, led by Rector Prof. Dr. Drs. Amir Luthfi, M.A., on Monday, 8 June 2026, at the Executive Meeting Room on the second floor of the Imam Barnadib Building. The meeting marked an important step toward strengthening institutional partnership and expanding academic collaboration between both universities.

The delegation was received by the Director of the Graduate School, Prof. Dr. Siswantoyo, M.Kes., AIFO., together with members of the Graduate School leadership team, coordinators of doctoral study programs, and representatives from the International Affairs and Partnership Unit (UUIK). The meeting was conducted in a warm and highly interactive atmosphere, featuring strategic discussions on a range of collaborative opportunities that could be jointly developed by both institutions.

During the meeting, both parties explored several academic collaboration initiatives relevant to the advancement of higher education. One of the central topics of discussion focused on the development of a Doctoral Program in Educational Sciences at Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai. Representatives from both institutions exchanged perspectives on the academic frameworks, governance structures, and quality assurance mechanisms required to support the establishment of a high-quality doctoral program.

In addition, discussions also highlighted opportunities for collaboration through the Distance Learning Program (PJJ) offered by the Graduate School of UNY. The program was recognized as a strategic alternative for supporting lecturers and educational staff in pursuing advanced studies through a flexible learning system while maintaining high academic standards and quality educational services.

As a concrete outcome of the meeting, the Graduate School of UNY and Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai reached an agreement to collaborate in two primary areas: the development of the Doctoral Program in Educational Sciences at Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai, and the implementation of advanced study opportunities through the Distance Learning Program (PJJ) at the Graduate School of UNY. The agreement was formalized through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) as the official foundation for future collaborative programs between the two institutions.

The signing of this agreement represents an important milestone in strengthening institutional relations while opening broader opportunities for synergy in higher education development, human resource capacity building, and the enhancement of academic excellence across both universities.

Through this partnership, the Graduate School of UNY continues to demonstrate its commitment to building productive academic networks with universities across Indonesia. The collaboration is expected to generate meaningful benefits for both institutions while contributing to the broader advancement of higher education quality at the national level.
