Human Resource Management Students Engage in Inspiring Academic Gathering at SPs UNY

The Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (SPs UNY) organized an Academic Gathering for students of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Master’s Program in Human Resource Management on Saturday, 18 April 2026. Held at the 3rd Floor Hall of the Sugeng Mardiyono Building, the event brought together 16 students in a warm and engaging atmosphere that fostered a strong sense of community.

The program commenced with opening remarks by the Director of SPs UNY, Prof. Dr. Siswantoyo, M.Kes., AIFO. A balance of formality and familiarity was evident as the leadership of SPs UNY addressed the participants. In their remarks, both the Director and Vice Director emphasized the importance of synergy among students, faculty members, and the institution in supporting academic success—particularly for RPL students, who bring diverse professional experiences into their learning journey.

A meaningful highlight of the gathering was the Halal Bihalal session, accompanied by a religious talk delivered by Dr. Jumadi, M.Pd.I. In his reflection, he encouraged participants to strengthen values of togetherness, sincerity, and the spirit of seeking knowledge as an integral part of personal and spiritual growth.

The event continued with remarks from the class representative, Ekawati Rahayu Putri, who expressed students’ aspirations for the upcoming learning process. This was followed by an academic briefing from the Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Human Resource Management, covering key aspects such as the academic system, study strategies, and the range of academic support available at SPs UNY.

An interactive academic discussion session further enriched the program, providing an open forum for dialogue between students and faculty members. This session allowed participants to explore various topics related to coursework, academic challenges, and competency development.

As a closing activity, participants were introduced to the academic facilities available at SPs UNY to support their learning experience.

Through this initiative, SPs UNY reaffirms its commitment to delivering academic services that are not only of high quality but also human-centered and collaborative. The Academic Gathering is expected to serve as a meaningful starting point in fostering effective communication and strengthening a sense of community among students and the academic community.
