The Graduate School of UNY (SPs UNY) hosted a delegation from Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha's Graduate Program (PPS UNDIKSHA) in the Sugeng Mardiyono Auditorium on Friday, September 12th, 2025. Strengthening governance and graduate program growth were the goals of the visit. The coordinators of the doctoral and master's programs in Educational Research and Evaluation, Educational Science, Vocational Education, Environmental Science, and Human Resource Development and Management, as well as Prof. Dr. Dyah Kumalasasi, M.Pd., Vice Director for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Research, and Collaboration, gave a warm welcome and introduced SPs UNY's academic ecosystem.
Representing the visiting institution, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd.., Director of PPs UNDIKSHA, conveyed the purpose of the visit, which was to learn about postgraduate governance. With almost 5,000 new students this academic year, UNDIKSHA is currently a Public Service Agency State University (PTN BLU), preparing to become a Legal Entity State University (PTN BH). With 1,982 enrolled students, PPs UNDIKSHA oversees both monodisciplinary and multidisciplinary programs, 17 of which have received "Excellent" accreditation. After PTN BH status is obtained, UNDIKSHA intends to start distant learning programs soon. As the cornerstone of cooperation, Prof. Dr. Siswantoyo, M.Kes., AIFO., The Director of SPs UNY emphasized the dedication to exchanging best practices before signing the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and Implementation Arrangement (IA).
The exchange of ideas was lively and productive. Inquiries concerning the distance learning (PJJ) model at SPs UNY were made by Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Putu, Vice Director I of PPs UNDIKSHA. These questions covered the hybrid scheme, the use of an institutional or ministry-based learning management system, the proposal procedures and status of distance learning, and publication requirements as part of the examination process. Prof. Dr. Ketut Suma, M.S., Vice Director II, in the meantime, brought up concerns regarding student admissions for odd and even semesters as well as diversifying revenue streams outside of tuition payments. Both universities agreed on additional technical follow-ups with their respective teams to explain academic management, distant learning schemes, and potential for cooperative programs after SPs UNY presented its guiding principles, processes, and best practices.
It is projected that this meeting would speed up the synergy between SPs UNY and PPs UNDIKSHA in improving the caliber of academic services, fortifying governance in the direction of PTN BH status, and creating competitive, inclusive, and adaptable programs, including distance learning.
