Graduate School Students Earn International Recognition at ICESML 2026 in Thailand

Students from the Graduate School (SPs) of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) once again demonstrated their academic excellence on the international stage through their participation in the 5th International Conference on Educational System Management Leadership (ICESML) 2026, held at the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. The conference brought together academics, researchers, practitioners, and students from various countries and provided a platform for scholarly exchange and research dissemination. At the event, Graduate School students received prestigious awards in both oral and poster presentation categories.
The Best Oral Presentation Award was presented to Khofifah Alawiyah, a doctoral student in the Vocational and Technical Education (PTK) Program, and Irwan, a master's student in the Educational Research and Evaluation (PEP) Program. Their research examined the influence of entrepreneurship education, emotional intelligence, and parental managerial support on entrepreneurial intentions among vocational high school students.
Through their study, the researchers sought to contribute to the advancement of entrepreneurship education that is responsive to the needs of younger generations and the evolving demands of the workforce. Their presentation received high recognition from the judging panel for its strong research foundation, practical relevance, and effective delivery.
Another notable achievement was earned by Nurul Arsyi, a master's student in the Educational Research and Evaluation (PEP) Program, who received the Best Poster Presentation Award. Her research explored the application of generative artificial intelligence in educational assessment and its implications for the development of STEM education.
The topic was recognized for its relevance to current developments in educational technology, particularly in supporting more adaptive and technology-enhanced assessment practices. Through her research, Nurul demonstrated how advances in artificial intelligence can be leveraged to improve the quality and effectiveness of educational evaluation.
The awards were determined through a rigorous evaluation process conducted by academics and professors involved in the conference. Assessment criteria included research quality, scholarly contribution, originality of the topic, and the presenters’ ability to communicate their findings effectively to an international audience.
These achievements highlight the strong academic capabilities and research competencies of Graduate School students, demonstrating their ability to compete and excel in international academic forums. The recognition also reflects the Graduate School’s commitment to fostering a culture of research excellence, scientific publication, and active student participation in global scholarly engagement.
Through accomplishments such as these, the Graduate School hopes to inspire more students to pursue high-quality research and participate in international academic forums. Such experiences not only broaden academic perspectives but also strengthen the contribution of Indonesian scholarship to the global academic community.
