Vocational Education, as "Education for Occupations", is held to meet the community's needs in building their welfare. Community needs in the process of building welfare are the primary orientation for the implementation of vocational education. One segment of the vocational community is the village community living in a unified cultural environment. How can rural communities proven to have socio-cultural and food resilience in building prosperity by universities be fostered and accompanied by sustainable development. Higher education institutions, such as the Postgraduate of Yogyakarta State University, have gone down the mountain to build villages.

UNY Postgraduates, through the Masters and Doctoral Study Programs in Technology and Vocational Education (PTK) and Educational Research and Evaluation (PEP), carry out research and community service activities in-depth, mapping the potential and needs of the villagers of Tinalah Purwoharjo and Segajih Hargotirto, Kulon Progo Regency. Research and community service were held to examine the potential of Tinalah and Segajih villages in tourism village development.

The research begins with mapping the two gods' potential and building digital maps. Village potentials are identified and mapped, and various development action plans are prepared. Research and Community Service involve master's and doctoral students. UNY Postgraduate has agreed with the two villages to conduct development cooperation, where the role of UNY Postgraduate is as a companion.

To increase the potential of the tourist villages of Tinalah and Segajih, the Postgraduate of UNY has built supporting facilities in the form of two Gazebo buildings and assisted with facilities in the form of batik equipment, culinary organizing equipment, cultural arts, culinary training, baristas, jemparingan, local food processing, foreign language training, handling of tour scouting, and marketing of village tourism. Through this assistance, it is hoped that the progress of this tourist village will increase significantly, and it is hoped that it can improve the welfare of its people.
