RESPONDING TO CHALLENGES OF TVET IN THE FUTURE

In the period October-November 2022, the Master’s Study Program of Technology and Vocational Education (PTK) at UNY Graduate School participated in the Outbound Visiting Professor (VP) program to the Faculty of Technical and Vocational Education (FPTV) Universiti Tunn Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). As a speaker, UNY PTK Masters sent Prof. Sutarto, M.Sc., Ph.D. as a guest lecturer. This activity is expected to be able to establish a partnership between the UNY Graduate School PTK Study Program and FPTV UTHM.

Besides that, this activity is expected to establish a good and sustainable collaboration in the fields of teaching, research development, laboratories, and academic quality with FPTV UTHM and improve the development of research, laboratories, and academic quality. In addition, this activity is intended to continue the collaborative research pioneer which resulted in Scopus journal articles, Pioneering Joint Degree/Dual Degree Collaboration, student exchanges for summer course lecture programs, and also Transfer Credit between the masters PTK in UNY Graduate School and FPTV UTHM students.

The lecture materials in this activity include the basic concepts of curriculum development, the existing TVET conditions and identification of challenges, the TVET Curriculum development framework, the Principles of TVET Curriculum Development and its components, Comparing several TVET curriculum development and evaluation models, Several techniques for determining curriculum content, Approaches, strategies, and models in teaching TVET and evaluating the implementation and teaching of the TVET curriculum.
