The Graduate School Student Family (KMSP) Yogyakarta State University (UNY) is again holding a ProTEFL Workshop. The first batch of workshop activities in 2023 will be held online via Zoom for 3 days, starting on Friday (3/3) and ending on Sunday (5/3). The ProTEFL Workshop is a program organized by KMSP UNY in collaboration with the UNY Language Service Unit to facilitate and equip students who will take the ProTEFL Test as a graduation requirement at UNY.

This workshop activity began with remarks from Tifani Yuliyana, S.Pd. as the chairman of the committee followed by remarks from Roni Eka Rahmat, S.Pd. as the General Chairperson of KMSP who officially opened the ProTEFL Workshop Batch 1  in 2023. Also on this occasion, Suhaini Muhammad Saleh, M.A as the coordinator of the SPS Language Service of UNY was the resource person who delivered workshop materials about TOEFL.

Overall, the material presented by the speakers was divided into 3 (three) main topics according to the content in the TOEFL test and presented in 3 (three) different ways, namely Listening on the first day of the workshop, then continuing with Structure and Written Expression on the second day and closed with Reading Comprehension material on the third day. The presentation of the material by the speakers opened with a short theory and continued to dissect examples of questions that are common in the TOEFL test. This session involved participants interactively giving direct answers, responding, and also ask questions to the speaker. The speakers also did not forget to convey tips and tricks that participants could apply when taking the ProTEFL test.

The ProTEFL workshop involved 105 participants from various faculties and study programs at UNY. After attending the workshop for 3 (three) days, participants who chose to register all at once to take the test continued their activities by carrying out the online ProTEFL test on Monday (6/3). The ProTEFL Test activity is held directly by the UNY Language Service Unit as the institution authorized to carry out the test. (ode/lovi/ant)
