DELEGATES OF UNY GRADUATE SCHOOL SOCIALIZED NEW STUDY PROGRAMS IN EAST KALIMANTAN

In effort of broadening education reach in Indonesia, Graduate School of UNY visited some notable universities and institutions in East Kalimantan.

UNY delegates were consisted of the Graduate School Director, Vice Director I, and Educational Research and Evaluation study program staffs. The staffs of Environmental Science and Human Resources Management joined the visit also. They were welcomed in Kutai Kartanegara University (UNIKARTA) in Tenggarong. Rector of UNIKARTA also stated the interest in establishing cooperation with other universities, such as Widya Gama Mahakam University (UNWANAGAM), Balikpapan University (UNIBA), and Mulawarman University (UNMUL). UNY was also offered a collaboration with UNIKARTA in developing their only master program of pre-school education.

UIN Samarinda and Mulawarman University became the next stops of their visit. Intense discussions occurred in the meetings on various topics, such as timely graduation, lecturer improvement, and possibility of further cooperation, especially on the new master program offered by UNY.

On the meeting with East Kalimantan Education and Culture Department, UNY delegates discussed the potential of cooperation in developing local educators. Vice of UNY Graduate School explained the new Environmental Science and Human Resource Management study program. The vice also added the possibility of future joint research.

The visit opened up opportunity and possibility between UNY and universities of East Kalimantan for future cooperation that, hopefully, would result in significant achievements of human resource and environmental development.
