LEARNING DIVERSITY THROUGH THE SUMMER CAMP COLLABORATION OF YOGYAKARTA STATE UNIVERSITY AND MÜNSTER UNIVERSITY

Monday (03/10/22), Postgraduate UNY held Summer Camp activities with Münster University in the tourist village of Hargotirto, Segajih hamlet. This summer camp activity which UNY and Münster University carry out, aims to promote diversity and teach diversity to early childhood. This summer camp will be held from 03 October to 14 October 2022. There were four significant agendas during the summer camp: intensive camp, school visit, roundtable discussion, and finally, sightseeing and farewell.

The first activity is intensive camp. An intensive camp was conducted for preparation and discussion related to school visiting, which will be taught in several schools in Yogyakarta. Eighteen participants took part in this summer camp, consisting of four delegates from Munster University, two from the German Literature Study Program, Universitas Malang, and twelve people from UNY. During the intensive class, participants will make preparations for school visits, such as making handicrafts from coconut leaves and learning to make batik. Participants were also guided directly by the residents of the Segajih hamlet led by Mr. Ali Subhan, the drafter of the Segajih tourist village, during their activities. According to Prof. Juliane, Study activities close to nature are entertaining, and according to her, the atmosphere in the city is very distracting.
